Western Digital Rolls Out New Datacenter Drives
Irvine-based disk drive manufacturer Western Digital has rolled out a new set of products, specifically aimed at data centers, which it says have much better performance, high capacity, and enhanced reliability. Western Digital said its new WD Gold data center hard drives have capacities of up to 8TB, which have reliability ratings of 2.5 million hours MTBF, much better performance than previous generations of its drives, and also 24/7 premium tech support. Pricing on the new drives was not announced.
