Two Bit Circus Gets New Funding, Sets First Location In Downtown LA
Los Angeles-based Two Bit Circus, the startup which combines entertainment with education and immersive technology, said it has received a strategic round of funding, which it will use it will open up its very first "micro-amusement park" this fall in downtown Los Angeles. The new strategic funding came from CJ CGV, a South Korean entertainment and theatrical company. Two Bit Circus said CJ CGV is the world's fifth largest cinema exhibition company. Two Bit Circus explained the new location will combine social games and "old school carnival entertainment" with immersive technology. The startup--led by CEO and Co-Founder, Brent Bushnell--also said the new micro-amusement park will feature "multi-person virtual reality, mixed reality, never-before-seen group games, molecular gastronomy, mechanical mixology" and more in a 50,000 square foot building. Size of the new funding round was not announced.
