SpaceX Delivers Telstar Vantage 18 To Space
Hawthorne-based SpaceX successfully delivered another payload into space in the early hours of the morning, from Cape Canaveral Air Force Base. SpaceX launched the satellite payload at 12:45 a.m. EDT from Space Launch Complex 40 (SLC-40), deploying the satellite into Geostationary Transfer Orbit (GTO) approximately 32 minutes after its liftoff from Florida. SpaceX also landed the Falcon 9 rocket used in the launch on a drone ship in the Atlantic. The Telstar Vantage 18 is broadband satellite that will serve the Asia Pacific region, and replaces the existing Telstar 18 satellite; the new satellite is expected to serve for 15 years.
