Ripple Inks Deal With Borders
El Segundo-based Ripple, which is developing a network of in-store, television and video information screens, has inked a deal with book retailer Borders. According to the firms, Borders will launch a new, in-store television network in a collaboration with Ripple. Borders said it would include exclusive, original video content which will be combined with Ripple's targeted lifestyle content within its bricks and mortar stores. The network will roll out in 15 of Border's largest markets, including New York, Chicago, Los Angeles, Dallas, San Francisco, Houston, Phoenix, and Washington, D.C. The deal will start with 60 Borders stores, with rollout to 250 stores by February of 2008. Financial terms of the deal were not disclosed. Ripple is venture backed by Draper Fisher Jurvetson and Trinity Ventures.
