PeerStreet Raises $15M For Real Estate Loan Marketplace
Los Angeles-based PeerStreet, a startup which operates a marketplace for investing in real estate backed loans, has raised $15M in a Series A funding round. The funding was led by Andreessen Horowitz, and also included The Kaiser Family Foundation, Rembrandt Venture Partners, Montage Ventures and others. Alex Rampell of Andreessen Horowitz joins the company's board with the funding. Brew Johnson is the CEO and co-founder of PeerStreet. The comapny also has previously raised funding from Michael Burry of Scion Asset Management; Adam Nash, former CEO of Wealthfront; Toba Capital; LeFrak and others. PeerStreet was co-founded by Johnson and Brett Crosby, who founded Urchin Software (which was acquired by Google). More information »
