Occam Adds Voice Over IP Support
Santa Barbara-based Occam Networks, a provider of telecommunications equipment based on Ethernet and IP networks, said today that it has added carrier-class support for the Session Initiation Protocol (SIP). SIP is an industry standard for voice-over-IP calls. Occam said its latest software implements SIP, which is used to connect VoIP calls to POTS telephone networks.
