Occam Adds Emergency Services Features
Santa Barbara-based Occam Networks said this week that it is now supporting emergency services calling and local station-to-station calling on its broaband loop carrier systems in the event of network or equipment failures. The new feature supports routing 911 calls to local emergency lines, and completion of local calls, even with the failure of a primary central office switch. Occam's IP- and Ethernet-based products provide lower cost Voice over IP support for telecommunications carriers.
