Oberthur Technologies Moves Los Angeles Manufacturing
Oberthur Technologies, which develops smart identification cards, said late last week that it will move manufacturing from its Los Angeles operations to a facility in Exton, PA. Number of employees affected by the move was not disclosed. The firm said that manufacturing will cease at its Los Angeles facility by the end of March, and that it will offer some employees relocation. The firm explained that employees who are not willing to relocate will be provided transition assistance, and also said that it will use its Los Angeles service center to add card personalization and fulfillment services. Oberthur's smart cards are used for the digital TV, mobile, payment, and identification markets.
