eTailPet Finds $800K Seed Funding
Los Angeles-based eTailPet, a new startup which helps pet store owners create online e-commerce sites, has received a round of seed funding, the company said this week. The seed funding was worth $800K, and led by Moonshots Capital, and also included individual angels from the pet industry. eTailPet lets pet stores create their own websites, post their catalog, accept orders for in store pickup or delivery, and more, offering up a number of templates, mobile optimization, and outsource customer (More info...)

Jam City Acquires German Mobile Games Studio
Los Angeles-based mobile games developer Jam City announced on Thursday morning that it has acquired 231 Play, a Berlin, Germany-based mobile games studio. As part of the acquisition, the company says it has opened up Jam City Germany, which will be based in Berlin. Financial terms of the acquisition were not announced. Internet Archive Restores Massive Collection Of MySpace MP3s
The Internet Archive has some good news for those who may have lost music due to the "accidental" deletion of twelve years of music by Los Angeles-based MySpace. According to the Internet Archive, it was able to restore a 450,000 song collection of music from 2008 to 2010 on MySpace, as a result of the secret "MySpace Music Dragon Hoard", collected by an un-named academic researcher. TutorMe Acquired By Zovio
Los Angeles-based TutorMe, a provider of online tutoring services, has been acquired by San Diego-based Zovio, the companies announced this morning. Financial terms of the acquisition were not announced. Zovio said the deal will expand the scope of the services it offers to higher education partners. RealD Gets Patent Win
Los Angeles-based 3D movie technology developer RealD announced on Wednesday that the company has scored a patent win in Europe. According to the company, the European Patent Office (EPO) has upheld the validity on one of its key patents for light-doubling 3D cinema projection systems. RealD said the ruling will bolster its case against Volfoni, who the company is suing over infringement of its patents.
