NantHealth Applies Supercomputers To Cancer Treatment
Los Angeles-based healthcare IT company NantHealth, which is led by billionaire Dr. Patrick Soon-Shiong, said this week that it has rolled out a new, super computer-based system aimed at improving treatments for cancer. NantHealth said it has launched a fully integrated genomic, transcriptomic analytic engine that identifies alterations spanning from DNA to RNA to protein pathways, which can help doctors with better clinical treatment decisions for treating cancer. NanHealth said its system looks at over 10,000 tumor and germline whole exomes or genomes, taken from over 5,000 patients, to improve insights into exactly the right treatments for various tumor types.
