Los Angeles-based NantHealth, the personalized medicine effort which is one of the companies run by billionaire Dr. Patrick Soon-Shiong, said today that it is deploying its platform in London, with the University Hospital Southampton NHS Foundation Trust . The two said they are working together on precision medicine efforts for cancer patients, using NantHealth's software to help manage cancer care. Financial details of the partnership were not announced. The two are using genetic sequencing and proteomics, combined with supercomputing techniques and analysis, to better select treatments and care for cancer. The two said that NantHealth's software is being used for genomics sequencing interpretation and annotation, and will result in clinical reports that will suggest treatment decisions for cancer patients, based on the outcome of other patients with similar, genetic signatures.
