How Crowdstrike Ended Up At The Center Of The DNC Hacking Investigation
Irvine-based Crowdstrike, the cybersecurity services and software firm led by security veteran George Kurtz, has been in the news a lot over the last year, for its involvement in uncovering the hacking at the Democratic National Committee (DNC). Buzzfeed takes a deep dive into the story behind Crowdstrike's investigation, and how essentially Crowdstrike has replaced the FBI in investigating the intrusion. According to the story, Crowdstrike was roped into the deal by literally a random call into its sales desk. Crowdstrike is venture backed by Accel, CapitalG (formerly Google Capital), Warburg Pincus, March Capital Partners, and Telstra.
