Holiday Spending Hits $23.82 Billion, Monday Another Record Day
The latest numbers from comScore finds that so far this holiday season, U.S. consumers have spent more than $23.82 billion online. That total is up 12 percent versus the same period last year. In addition, Monday spending on December 13th--traditionally, the peak of holiday e-commerce sales days--totaled $954 million, up 12 percent from the $854M in sales in 2009. Monday also marked the second, heaviest online spending day on record, behind only Cyber Monday. comScore released its latest ecommerce numbers Tuesday afternoon, covering sales through December 13th.
