Holiday E-Commerce Spending Hits Record $46.5 Billion
Holiday spending via desktop e-commerce hit yet another record this holiday season, reaching $46.5 billion, according to the latest numbers released Tuesday by comScore. According to comScore, U.S. retail e-commerce spending hit $46.5 billion, up ten percent versus a year ago, a record for online holiday spending. comScore did not release how those numbers relate to mobile or tablet order activity this year. According to comScore, despite the records, the spending was below the forecasted 14 percent growth it had forecast for desktop spending during the season, which includes all e-commerce sales from desktop computers between November 1st and December 31st of 2013.
