Graze, Back By Wavemaker, Aims Robotic Mowers At Commercial Market
Santa Monica-based Graze, a new startup backed by Wavemaker Partners, said this morning that it has launched a new, robotic lawn mower targeted at the commercial market. According to the company, it is aiming at launching its fully autonomous, electric lawn mower by 2021. The company says its product is aimed at mowing large sized commercial lawns, and includes such features as GPS based mapping, computer vision, and machine learning capabilities. The startup is led by CEO John Vlay, and says it has raised more than $2M from individual investors, including Wavemaker Partners and Wavemaker Labs; the company says its founders come from Jensen Landscaping, Miso Robotics, SpaceX and Microsoft. It's unclear what the full connection to Miso Robotics is, as the press release announcing Graze was issued by Miso Robotics. Graze says it is using equity crowdfunding through SeedInvest for its funding efforts.
