Wavemaker Raises $66M In New Southeast Asia Investment Fund
Santa Monica-based Wavemaker Ventures has raised a new, $66M venture capital investment fund, for its Southeast Asia efforts, the company said this week. According to Wavemaker, the fund exceeded what had been an initial $50M initial target for its investment fund. Limited Partners in the new fund include Temasek Holdings, Tim Draper, and the World Bank's International Finance Corp. Wavemaker, which is one of the Southern California's most active investors, already was active in Southeast Asia with an earlier investment fund. The company has been applying its experience investing in startups in Southern California in the more nascent Southeast Asian market. Wavemaker focuses on business-to-business investments, software, the cloud, hardware, and other similar areas.
