Demand Media Revenues, Pageviews Grow
Santa Monica-based Demand Media, the online content publishing firm run by Richard Rosenblatt, reported its second quarter 2012 financial results on Tuesday afternoon, saying that both its revenues and pageviews grew from year to year. Demand Media said it had total revenues of $93.1M for the three months ended June 30, 2012, up 17 percent from the same quarter last year. The company also reported a healthy rise in pageviews across both its own sites as well as its network, with pageviews hitting 3.3 billion pageviews in Q2, up 30% for its own sites, and 4.77 billion pageviews in Q2 for its customer website network, up 29 percent. Although pageviews were up, the company did report a drop in its RPM to $13.50, an 11 percent decrease from last year's Q2, which the firm attributed to a shift to relatively lower RPM properties during the quarter.
