Carbon Lighthouse Collects $32.6M For Energy Efficiency Efforts
Carbon Lighthouse, a provider of energy efficiency services and developer of energy efficiency technology which recently opened up a Los Angeles office, has raised $32.6M in a funding, the company said on Tuesday. According to Carbon Lighthouse, $20M of that funding came from Cox Enterprises. Carbon Lighthouse says that it helps commercial building owners significantly reduce their energy costs and environmental footprint with no upfront cost. Cox Enterprises said the deal comes as part of its strategy to "build a multi-billion-dollar business that addresses sustainability challenges". Cox Enterprises--best known for its Cox Communications, Cox Automotive and Cox Media Group units--says its investments interests include renewable energy production and energy efficiency, sustainable agriculture and water. Carbon Lighthouse explains that it has created proprietary technology to analyze new sources of building data to uncover hidden inefficiencies, to help create an "energy solution" for those buildings.
