Energy Innovations Reports Efficiency Gains
Pasadena-based Energy Innovations, a developer of concentrating solar modules, is now shipping modules with 29% conversion efficiency, the firm revealed last week, about double the average efficiency of standard, flat PV systems. According to the firm, the much higher efficiency for its system comes from the use of its silicone-on-glass (SoG) Fresnel lenses, advanced secondary optics, and use of high-efficiency, triple junction cells for its systems. Energy Innovations is backed by Idealab; MDV Mohr, Davidow Ventures; and Westlake Venture Partners.
