Boingo Gets Gatwick, Rolls Unlimited UK Plan
Los Angeles-based Boingo Wireless, which operates a network of Wi-Fi hotspots, said today that it has signed an exclusive deal with London Gatwick Airport (LGW) to operate the airport's retail Wi-Fi services. Financial impact of the win was not disclosed. Boingo said it will be staffing an office in London as part of the win. In a related move, Boingo said it has launched an all-you-can-eat, unlimited Wi-Fi plan in the UK, as part of its rollout at six major airports in the United Kingdom. Boingo said it is now the exclusive wi-Fi Internet provider at London Heathrow (LHR), Stansted (STN), Aberdeen (ABZ), Edinburgh (EDI), Glasgow (GLA), and Southhampton (SOU). Boingo said its network includes around 5,240 hotspots in the UK.
