ZyXEL Adds SOHO Intrusion Detection Appliance
Anaheim-based ZyXEL Communications (www.ux.zyxel.com) announced earlier this week a new intrusion detection and prevention network security appliance targeted at the small office/home office market. The company's ZyWALL IDP 10 provides layer 7 protection against security threats, and provides application-level pattern matching and identification of possible security threats. The company said that it hardware can detect and combat Denial-of-Service (DoS) and DDoS attacks, buffer overflow attacks, network scan attacks, port scan attacks, Trojan horse attacks, back door attacks and worms.
