Xirrus Gets Win At University

Thousand Oaks-based Xirrus, which develops Wi-Fi switching hardware, said this week that its products have been selected by Chapman University, in Orange County. According to Xirrus, Chapman will use the firm's workgroup switches for campus-wide deployment. Xirrus said that Chapman chose the firm because its solution is the only one capable of solving the school's user density and bandwith issues. Financial impact of the deal was not disclosed. The Xirrus hardware replaces a system using traditional access points. Xirrus is venture backed by August Capital, Canaan Partners, QuestMark Partners, and US Venture Partners.
