Xfire Raises $4M More
Los Angeles-based Xfire, the online community and chat service for gamers, announced Thursday that it has raised $4M in a new funding round. The firm said the round was led by Intel Capital, and also included Tomorrow Ventures, William Quigley and Jim Armstrong of Clearstone Ventures, Kamran Pourzanjani of PriceGrabber, and MP3.com founder Michael Robertson. Xfire said it has split from Titan Gaming as an independent firm as part of the funding, and the company also ushered in a new executive team. According to the firm, Mark Donovan has been named President, Juston Brommel as Chief Marketing Officer, and Autumn Radtke as Director of Business Development as part of the funding and split. Xfire operates an online service which lets videogamers chat and communicate with each other; the firm's instant messaging software allows users to communicate with their friends at the same time they are playing a videogame.
