XCOR Aerospace Names Space Tourism Sales Agent
Mojave-based XCOR Aerospace, one of the Southern California companies developing space vehicles, said that it has named a General Sales Agent for the firm's space tourism flights. The company--which is in the midst of developing a suborbital vehicle to deliver tourists to space--said it will offer up its $95,000 flights to space through Space Expedition Corporation (SXC). XCOR said it will focus on development of its spaceships, with SXC focusing on ticket sales, training missions and astronaut relations. XCOR is competing against neighboring firm, Virgin Galactic, to affordably deliver tourists into space; Virgin Galactic looks to be ahead of XCOR, at least in testing of its product, and in recently receiving an FAA launch permit for its efforts; XCOR's vehicles are still in the initial design phases.
