Withoutabox Acquired By Amazon's IMDB
Studio City-based Whitoutabox, an online services provider focused on independent film and artists, has been acquired by The Internet Movie Database. Financial terms of the acquisition were not disclosed. According to IMDB, Whitoutabox will continue to function as a stand-alone operations based in Los Angeles. The Internet Movie Database is a subsidiary of Amazon.com. Withoutabox was founded in 2000 by David Straus and Joe Neulight, and provides an online site focused on managing independent film distribution. The firm's online services provide a way for independent filmmakers to submit their films to festivals and to promote their films.
