WebMessenger Re-Acquired By Founders
Los Angeles-based WebMessenger, a provider of software for connecting business applications with mobile devices, said Friday that it has acquired Apptix WebMessenger, a subsidiary of Apptix, Inc. Financial terms of the deal were not disclosed. Apptix had acquired WebMessenger in April of last year in a $7M acquisition. The firm said that the original founders of WebMessenger--Val Babajov, Joe Naylor, and George Emilov--reacquired the firm and will continue to lead the company. Reasons for the the buy back of the firm were not given. WebMessenger provides companies connect their enterprise applications to BlackBerry, Windows Mobile, Symbian, and Palm mobile devices.
