Warner, AnywhereCD Settle Dispute
Warner Music Group and San Diego-based AnywhereCD, an online music distribution service, said today that the two companies have settled lawsuits the two had filed against each other over the terms of a content agreement. AnywhereCD was launched in April by Michael Robertson, the founder of MP3.com, as a service to allow users to purchase a bundled offering of physical CDs and corresponding MP3 downloads from Warner. The two agreed to an early termination of their current relationship, as of September 30, 2007. According to a statement released by the firms, it "became clear that the parties had differences as to both the scope of their agreement and the direction of the business model." AnywhereCD will continue to sell Warner Music Group content until the termination of their relationship in September.
