Virgin Hyperloop One Cuts Half Of Staff, Pivots To Cargo
Los Angeles-based "hyperloop" technology developer Virgin Hyperloop One has cut approximately half of its staff, and pivoted to work on cargo--rather than passenger--transportation. The high flying company laid off approximately 111 staffers, according to the Financial Times. Virgin Hyperloop One has yet to deliver a system, based on an idea tossed out to the world by Elon Musk of transporting people via giant pneumatic tubes. The company showed off a fancy "user experience" video back in 2021.
