Virgin Galactic Launching First Spaceflight In Two Years
Virgin Galactic has launched its first spaceflight mission in two years, with hopes of sending four crew members to suborbital space today. According to the company, it will launch from its new facility in New Mexico, with hopes of starting regular, commercial missions in June. Virgin Galactic's space launch system includes a special launch carrier plane, the Virgin Mother Ship Eve, which launches a space vehicle called the Virgin Space Ship Unity. The two vehicles took off from Spaceport America in New Mexico right around 8:10am PT.
