Viaspace Acquires Caltech Software License
Pasadena-based Viaspace has licensed more technology from Caltech, the firm said yesterday. The company, which is commercializing technology from JPL, said that it acquired the license for a real-time inference engine called SHINE. SHINE software is used by NASA Jet Propulsion Laboratory for space flight operations, and Viaspace said that its Arroyo Sciences subsidiary will commercialize and develop that technology. Viaspace said that the application for the technology include explosive detection, maritime security, sensor data fusion for emergency response, and other security-related applications.
