ViaSat Wins Qantas
Carlsbad-based ViaSat, the satellite Internet services provider, has signed on Qantas Airways as a new customer, the company said late Monday. According to ViaSat, it has signed a memorandum of understanding (MOU), where it iwll provider in-flight internet connectivity to Qantas on its domestic flights. Financial impact of the deal were not disclosed. ViaSat said that Qantas is the first, Asia Pacific airline to select its in-flight Internet services. ViaSat said it expects in-flight Internet trials to begin in late 2016 on Qantas Boeing 737 aircraft, with full rollout to the remainder of the Qantas domestic fleet beginning in 2017.
