Versora, Codeweavers Team on Linux Migration
Santa Barbara-based Versora, and Linux consultancy CodeWeavers said yesterday that the two companies have teamed up to provide a new bundle of software targeted at migrating Windows desktops to Linux. The new bundle of Versora's Progression Desktop tool along with CrossOver Office allows companies to migrate their data, application, and system settings to Linux and run applications such as Microsoft Office and Adobe Photoshop. Versora develops software for migrating application data, and Codeweavers provides a re-implementation of the Windows Win32 API that allows Windows software to operate under the Linux environment.
