V-Enable Scores Win With MetroPCS
San Diego-based V-Enable has scored a win with mobile phone service provider MetroPCS, and is powering a new unlimited, 411 service for MetroPCS subscribers. The new service, announced Thursday by MetroPCS Communications, allows consumers to access unlimited directory assistance without additional charges. MetroPCS said that other wireless service providers charge as much as $2 for each directory assistance request. Financial terms of the deal were not disclosed, however V-Enable is providing the voice search services for the unlimited 411 service. V-Enable is venture backed by SoftBank Capital, Palisades Ventures, and Tempo Capital Partners.
