Users Turn To Internet For Political News
A recently released study by the Pew Internet and American Life Project shows that Americans are increasingly turning to the Internet for political news, at the expense of newspapers and other outlets. The Internet and Campaign 2004 report showed that during the 2004 campaign, 75 million Americans tapped the Internet as their political news and information source, 37% of the US adult population. The study also showed that 18% of registered voters used the Internet as their primary source of news, up from 11% in 2000. The Pew study showed a dramatic rise in online political news consumers, from 18% in 2000 to 29% in 2004.
