uSamp Eyes Check-Ins For Mobile Surveys
Encino-based uSamp, the online survey and panel firm, said Wednesday that it is moving into the mobile market, and is adding mobile surveying to its platform. According to uSamp, it is testing a mobile surveying platform for smart phones and mobile devices with several mobile application providers supporting the iPhone, Android, Blackberry, and iPad. The firm did not say when mobile support will be generally available from the firm, however, it says it will be taking advantage of GPS systems built into those mobile devices to get better market data for its customers. The firm also said it specifically is looking to take advantage of "check-ins", the feature popularized by foursquare, Gowalla, and Facebook Places, to serve up targeted surveys based on geographic and demographic information when users check-into services.
