UberMedia Gets $17.5M From Accel Partners
In the third, separate piece of news from Pasadena-based UberMedia today, the firm said it has completed a financing round from Accel Partners this morning. The firm raised $17.5M in the new funding round. UberMedia, which is headed by Idealab's Bill Gross, said the funding also included Steve Case of Revolution Ventures and Danny Rimer of Index Ventures. UberMedia just rolled out a new Twitter client, UberCurrent this morning, and reportedly just bought TweetDeck. As part of the new funding round, UberMedia said that Accel's Jim Breyer joins the company's board. UberMedia is a developer of a number of third party Twitter clients.
