Uber Targets Seniors, Disabled With New Service In Los Angeles, uberAssist
On-demand ridesharing service Uber> said late Tuesday that it is launching a new service, uberAssist, in Los Angeles, to help provide an extra hand specifically for seniors and the disabled. According to Uber, the new service taps drivers who are specifically trained by Open Doors Organization to assist riders into vehicles and can accommodate folding wheelchairs, walkers, and scooters. Uber said the new program will offer up the same pricing as its uberX service. Riders in Los Angeles who want to use the program need to add the code ASSIST to the Promotions section of the app, for the option to show up.
