Uber Sues LA Over Location Data
According to a report, Uber has sued Los Angeles, in a bid to keep information on the location of its fleet of on-demand scooters private. The lawsuit comes in response to rules, put into place back in 2018, where the Los Angeles Department of Transportation (LADOT) requires scooter companies operating in the city to provide location data on where their vehicles are. The lawsuit is part of a continuing saga of Uber, and other technology driven, on-demand services, trying to keep out of reach of government regulators.
