Tumbleweed Aims At Millenials With News App

Los Angeles-based Tumbleweed, a new startup founded by Shaun Neff and Cisco Adler, said Thursday that it has launched a brand new news app, specifically aimed at Milllennials. The new app, which is available on iTunes, condenses breaking news into a bite sized image with text and stickers, which can be shared and edited by users. The company said it is looking to "crack the Millenial news code" to get the younger generation interested and talking about news. The new app--which is free--takes a clue from Instagram and Snapchat, in that it is highly, highly visual--no paragraphs of text here or pages of reading--and is geared towards social sharing. In a nod to Snapchat, the company says stories will also disappear from its news feed in 24 hours, to make way for more current news.
