Transonic Combustion Gets New CEO
Camarillo-based Transonic Combustion, which is developing high-efficiency fuel injection systems for cars, said Thursday that it has named Brian Ahlborn as President and CEO of the firm. The company--which is backed by clean technology heavyweight Khosla Ventures, Venrock, and Rustic Canyon Partners--said that Ahlborn was most recently president of McLaren Performance Technologies. Ahlborn has served at Linmar Corporation, General Motors, and Deloitte & Touche. Ahlborn replaces current CEO Mike Cheiky, who will remain on the firm's board and serve as a technical advisor to the company. Transonic Combustion's product is expected to enable practical 100 mpg cars, the firm said. Alborn said that Transonic Combustion's technology is a "fundamental improvement" in the efficiency of internal combusion engines.
