Total Immersion Powers Nike Tour
Los Angeles-based Total Immersion, the developer of augmented reality systems, said this morning that Nike is reviving its Nike augment-reality slot machine tour, which is powered by the firm's technology. Total Immersion said that Nike is taking the traveling augmented reality application to the Hurley U.S. Open of Surfing and the X Games circuit, to showcase the firm's new 6.0 running shoe. Financial impact of the win was not disclosed. Nike had initially run the application at the U.S. Open and other locations last year. Nike is using Total Immersion's technology to integrate a video of the user with computer generated graphics in real time as part of its promotion of the Nike 6.0 shoes.
