Thatgamecompany Grabs $160M
Santa Monica-based videogame developer Thatgamecompany, which develops mobile games, has raised $160M in a funding round, the company said on Thursday. The funding came from TPG and Sequoia. The company develops game worlds such as Sky and Journey, and was founded by Jenova Chen and Kellee Santiago back in 2006. As part of the funding, the company said it has added Pixar co-founder Ed Catmull as an advisor. The company is led by CEO Jenova Chen. Chen and Santiago founded the company when they were students at the University of Southern California (USC).
