textPlus Offers Up Free Holiday Calling
Marina Del Rey-based text messaging and calling app provider textPlus announced Thursday that it will offer up free, holiday calling to users through December 26th, as part of a big promotion. According to textPlus, it will offer up free calling to its iOS and Android users, to the contiguous United States, until it has given away 60 million free minutes. The company said the move is part of a way to help its users stay connected during the holidays. textPlus provides free texting, a free phone number, and phone calling services via its app, which runs on both iOS and Android. The startup is backed by Kleiner Perkins Caufield and Byers, Matrix Partners, Upfront Ventures and The Raine Group.
