TeleSign Partners With Belgium Telecom Provider
Los Angeles-based Telesign, which provides phone-based authentication and related services, says it has partnred with Proximus, the largest telecommunications company in Belgium. Financial details of the partnership were not announced. According to TeleSign, the partnership will provide its fraud risk product portfolio to regional and international companies with a presence in Belgium. Telesign the effort, in particular, will help companies in that market with complying with the new EU Payment Services Directive, PSD2. TeleSign's services are used for second factor, phone authentication for many major websites and mobile applications; the company says it provides 21 of the top 25 global websites and mobile app providers with its services. Telesign is now owned by BICS, a Brussels-based provider of international wholesale connectivity and interoperability services. BICS acquired Telesign back in October of 2017.
