Teledyne Subsidiary Wins $6.2M Navy Contract
Thousand Oaks-based Teledyne Technologies revealed this morning that a subsidiary has won a U.S. Navy contract worth $6.2 million. According to Teledyne, Huntsville, Ala.-based Teledyne Brown Engineering Inc. will design, engineer, build, test and deliver ocean Littoral Battlespace Sensing-Gliders and associated support equipment to the Space and Naval Warfare Systems Command. Teledyne said it expects the contract to be completed by July 2010 but noted that it could run through November 2014 if all options are exercised. In that scenario, Teledyne noted, the contract value would increase from $6.2 million to some $52.6 million. Teledyne explained that the Navy plans to use the gliders to help monitor positioning during fleet maneuvers.
