Tarari Acquired By LSI For $85M
San Diego's Tarari, a provider of semiconductors used for XML and application packet processing, has been acquired by LSI. Milpitas-based LSI Corporation said it will pay $85M in cash for Tarari, which develops chips and software used for accelerating the processing of anti-virus, other security, XML and network control, and other network packet processing applications. Tarari had approximately 45 employees, and was backed by Enterprise Partners, Crosspoint Venture Partners, Morgan Stanley, Miramar Venture Partners, and XMLFund. Tarari had raised more than $40.8M in venture funding from its backers. Tarari will become part of LSI's Network & Storage Products Group
