SweetLabs Passes 1 Billion App Installs
San Diego-based SweetLabs, the app distribution platform for Windows and Android, led by former DivX founder Darrius Thompson, said Tuesday that it has surpassed 1 billion app installs on its platform. SweetLabs develops a platform which allows users to install apps on PCs, much as they are used to installing apps on iOS and Android, and currently has partnerships with PC OEMs like Lenovo, Toshiba, and Acer. SweetLabs says it has over 300 software developers and advertisers using its platform to help drive installs on the PC platform, and that it has a "unique focus" on the 1.5 billion daily active users of Windows. SweetLabs is venture backed by Bessemer Venture Partners, Google Ventures, and Intel Capital.
