Surf Air Redux: Wade Eyerly's Beacon Raises $7.5M
Wade Eyerly, the founder of Los Angeles-based membership airline Surf Air, has raised $7.5M for a brand new, membership-only airline called Beacon--this time, on the East Coast. Beacon said Wednesday that the funding was led by Romulus Capital, and also included from MiVentures, Western Technologies Investment, and others. Beacon is initially planning to fly between Boston and New York City. The new, startup airline comes nearly a year and a half after Eyerly was replaced as CEO over at Surf Air, replaced by airline veterans from Frontier Airlines. Beacon looks to be replicating Surf Air's model along the East Coast business corridor.
