SpaceX Plans Another 30,000 Starlink Satellites
Hawthorne-based SpaceX has applied to deploy an additional 30,000 Starlink satellites, in addition to an existing 12,000 it has already gotten approval for from the Federal Communications Communications (FCC). The network of low-earth orbit satellites are intended to provide broadband for the entire globe. SpaceX has already deployed the first 60 of its satellites, in its first deployment of those satellites. SpaceX's plan for that many satellites has both astronomers as well as space agencies like the ESA worried about the impact of that many additional satellites orbiting the earth.
