Sonos Ships iPhone-Powered Wireless Music System
Santa Barbara-based Sonos, a developer of wireless, whole-house music systems, said today that its new iPhone-powered music system, the Sonos ZonePlayer S5, is now available for purchase in the U.S. and Canada. The new system--which was announced the system in early October--allows users to use their iPhone to control and search for songs on the system. Sonos wireless music systems stream digital music to multiple rooms in a house, and allows users to control those systems as a group or individually. The Sonos S5 retails for $399 per room. The new system also supports the firm's own controllers. The iPhone application is free for the firm's customers; the company's latest software also includes integration of Twitter into the interface.
